Here is what the engine installation looks like.

This engine like the original is a Volkswagen type 4. The displacement is 2366cc, and the engine is turbocharged. It has a hub that takes the place of the front bearing, Hydraulic lifters.  Intake and exhaust are custom made.

The lower intake manifold is my design The carb is a Revflow with alt air. The carb is cockpit mixture controllable. The engine has 4 cylinder CHT & twin EGT.

The Exhaust manifolds were built by spot welding and lenghts of tubing, using original VW attach fitting.

Ignition is via a Slick 4216 as well as a 009 distributor, connected to automotive leads and plugs. The engine can be run from either system independently

The accessory case is A VolksPower case modified to accept the high torque starter as the Diehl case (Chrysler Product), with external alternator.  The oil system has a dual stage oil pump from the transporter automatic and uses the second stage to suck oil from the turbo and return it to the bottom of the engine case

Battery power is supplied by automotive battery, lots of CCA's.  The alternator is a 75 Honda Civic Nependenso unit that is belt driver by the mag drive which doubles as a pulley for the alternator.  The regulator is an early Ford unit.
